In my last post, I spoke about the various charities I have donated books to recently. I am pleased to add another very worthy organisation to my list: Friends for Leisure. They are a voluntary organisation in Cheshire East whose objectives are to provide disabled children with the opportunities to have fun, make friends and do the everyday things that other children and young people take for granted.

I was especially touched to be asked to join them in providing a story writing workshop. I am really looking forward to meeting the children, reading my book to them and carrying out some activities based around writing a story, the importance of the messages in the story being conveyed, discussing themes, colours and ideas for illustrations etc. This will hopefully encourage the children to be more creative and to show what they are capable of.

If you work for a charity or organisation that centres around children, I would love to help. Whether it’s receiving a book donation, arranging a meet the author session either via Zoom or in person or a story writing workshop, please do not hesitate to get in touch. I can also offer fun activities such as a craft session where the children can make their own favourite character/s in the book, for example making a sun-catcher with coloured paper and card.
