I was thrilled to hear from my publisher Full Media today. Rainforest Trust UK’s Fundraising Manager Vicky Wallace contacted them to say that the £1 donations from the sales of my debut picture book, The Problem with Poppy, have saved a whole acre of the Leuser Ecosystem in Sumatra!
The Leuser Ecosystem is the last place on earth where tigers, porcupines, orangutans and elephants coexist in the wild. The project we contribute to will create a wildlife corridor, allowing animals to migrate to their traditional feeding areas. Purchasing this land and putting it in the hands of local conservationists will be a key conservation success and we are thrilled to help make it happen!
Thanks, Vicky, for sending the certificate. I’m very proud that my book has led to such a positive outcome for such an important part of the world. It warms my heart to know that proceeds from sales of the other two books in the Sumatran Trilogy will also support your wonderful charity. What’s Troubling Tawny? will be published in February, and Hoorah for Heidi! will be out next June.
